Soft Enamel with Raised Metal Borders

The page describes this product as a soft enamel flag pin. During production, enamel colors are placed inside recessed sections of the metal design. Raised metal lines separate each color and form the outer border.

Because the enamel remains slightly below the metal lines, the finished pin has a textured surface. This helps the design feel detailed and gives each section of the flag a clear outline.

Soft enamel works well for flags because many designs use strong blocks of color, stripes, stars, crescents, crests or other clear symbols. Very small details may need to be simplified so they remain visible at the selected size.

The 0.5 and 0.75-inch options are more discreet and work best with simple flags. Larger options provide more room for detailed emblems, text or several design elements. Large pins may require two attachment points for better balance.

Custom Flag Shapes

A flag pin does not need to use a simple rectangular outline. The shape can follow a waving flag, shield, map, circle, ribbon or another design approved for production.

The gallery shows examples of waving Malaysian and Singaporean flags, a rectangular United Kingdom flag and other custom shapes. The best shape will depend on the artwork, intended size and attachment position.

Plating Options

Nickel, imitation gold and black nickel are shown as free plating options. Matte gold, matte nickel and matte silver are available for an additional $0.15 each.

The plating forms the outside border and all raised lines between the enamel colors. Gold-tone plating creates a traditional and formal appearance, while nickel offers a cleaner silver-tone finish. Black nickel can give modern or dark-colored designs stronger contrast.

Choose a plating color that complements the colors in the flag. A digital mockup can help show how each finish will affect the overall design.

Enamel Color Options

Up to five colors are included free. Six colors cost an additional $0.10 each, while seven colors cost an additional $0.15 each.

Many national flags use only two to four main colors, but flags containing detailed seals or crests may require additional shades. Provide Pantone color references when accurate matching is important.

Colors displayed on a monitor can look different from physical enamel. Review the color references carefully before approving production.

Back Attachment Choices

Butterfly and rubber clutches are included free. Both options use a post on the back of the pin that passes through clothing.

A plastic double magnet costs an additional $0.75 each, while a metal double magnet costs $0.75 each. A strong-cap magnet costs an additional $0.25 each. Magnetic options are useful when recipients prefer not to pierce their clothing.

A safety-pin attachment is available for an additional $0.30 each and may suit larger designs, uniforms or fabric displays.

Iron or Zinc-Alloy Metal

Iron is included as the standard material. Zinc alloy is offered at an additional $0.25 per piece, with another $50 charge shown on the page.

Zinc alloy may be recommended for complex shapes, internal openings, thicker designs or three-dimensional details. The extra $50 should be clearly identified as a mold or setup charge.

The gallery mentions a brass butterfly buckle. This likely describes the back attachment rather than the main pin material, but the website should clarify this point.

Optional Design Upgrades

Rhinestones can be added for an additional $0.25 each. They may suit ceremonial, decorative or commemorative flag designs.

A glitter effect costs an additional $0.50 each and adds a sparkling appearance to selected enamel sections. Clear epoxy coating costs an additional $0.25 each and creates a smoother protective surface.

Not every upgrade will suit every flag design. A simple national flag may look best without additional decoration, while event or celebration pins may benefit from glitter or rhinestones.

Packaging and Backing Cards

Free individual polybag packaging protects each pin during delivery. A velour pouch costs an additional $0.75 each, while a plastic box also costs $0.75 each. A premium velour box costs an additional $1.25 each.

Backing cards are available in 54 × 86mm and 60 × 40mm sizes. They can include the country name, event title, company logo, website, barcode or a short explanation of the flag.
